Sometimes you indulge in fast food at McDonald's. Other nights call for a Fine Wine & Dine experience.
That's the same in photography. There are times you need images to go beyond your own good snap shots. So you, as a chef for example, can fully focus on preparing the food perfectly. Or that you, as the PR manager, have your hands free to give full attention to your VIP guests.

Pragmatic and diplomatic
On the job I work very hands-on. Advantage of an external photographer with diplomatic skills: I can ‘boss’ people around in a charming way. Like, getting a line-up of Arabic Energy Ministers to move three meters to the right (so I could sneak the organization's logo in the shot), and using that hustle to get them to smile at the camera.

Gordon Ramsay did not explode on a meet-and-greet when some extra seconds were needed so that I could guide the fan to take on a more flattering pose.
​
Gordon actually told her: 'Better do as she says. That photographer is even bossier than me...'

It's simple. I admire chefs who can not only create delicious food, but do so under severe time pressure and high demands.
​
I will never get tired of zooming in on culinary delights!
Some of my highlights so far:
Among others, I photographed the recipe book for the Ritz-Carlton Doha, as well as the presentation of Qatari food on a prestigious trade delegation of Qatar to Japan.
Just two days before moving to Peru – shooting the advertisement for the new menu at Opal, by Gordon Ramsay.
​
Lima is the culinary capital of Latin America, and I dove into that scene by photographing for the food reviews of national English-language site, Living in Peru.
Up in the Stars
Photographing for luxurious resorts & 5 star hotels

In Qatar I photographed extensively for the St. Regis Doha and Ritz Carlton Doha. As well as occasionally for Sheraton Doha, Kempinsky Doha and the Four Seasons.
It was a pleasant mix of food, events, chefs, staff, venues, special celebrations like Ramadan, Eid al Fitr as well as Xmas tree lighting.

Ranging from the capturing '1001 night fairy-tale looks of the Ramadan tents' to close ups of Art Pieces.
Teaming up as 'external-in-house' MC photographer - it resulted in generated free publicity it into ‘Qatar Happening’ and ‘Doha Time Out’ with solid frequency.
Press releases delivered with powerful photos to the media– it works! Lebanese singer & actor Mike Massy even landed a cover because of this approach.
Jazz it up
Assigned photographer at Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha

Unique value- the first Jazz At Lincoln Center outside New York was opening up at my home town Doha.
Gotta be part of that - So I pitched a full photographic concept to document the vibes of this unique venue.
From Grand Opening untill the impressive last performance of the third season- captured it all. Amara created signature visual style for the images of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha in print, social media and within the club's interior.
Besides that, Amara provided the key visuals for two CD covers of grammy nominated artist Omar Sosa and many other musicians still use their images as profile photos on their social media.
