Qatar Red Crescent Society
Part of the media team

The Qatar Red Crescent Society is a humanitarian organisation with many national and international activities to support vulnerable people.

At my years in Qatar i was privileged to be part of the media team. Supporting and documenting many activities of the organisation: the handing out of daily Iftar meals to labor workers during Ramadan to fully covering the 10 days of Disaster Management Camp.

Roca & Aqua Perú
social safety self confidance develoment training

Rock and Water develops empowerment for the participants; connects them to their own strength and feelings, beliefs and values. Participants develop self-confidence and understand they always have a choice in any situation – a Rock action or a Water action – and that the outcome will be influenced by their choice.

The programme develops respect (manaakitanga), caring (whanaungatanga) and solidarity (kotahitanga), using exciting games and exercises to engage, enlighten and empower.

he Rock and Water program is developed by Dutch educationalist Freerk Ykema. Nowadays more than 50.000 teachers, spread over more than 18 countries worldwide, have trained approximately two million children and students.

September  2017 the first training from Roca & Aqua Perú started, training teenage moms in Lima.

I was privileged to photograph two sessions. As you will understand, all photos are taken in a way that protects the privacy of the participating  girls.

providing medical care at remote communities
Amazon area- at Rio Napo

Since 15 year DBPerú and their devoted volunteers provide medical care and training to the inhabitants of remote communities at Rio Napo (Peruvian Amazon base area).

Grass root, they make many home visits and take an caring and individual tailored approach to the medical situations they encounter. This ranges from arranging logistics to go to Iquitos for scans to providing medicine, pain relief and a matrass to a young lady battling a hopeless fight against cancer.

A special organisation I just recently started contributing to. I invite you to read and see more of the impressive work at their website: ...DBPerú.org
